Her platinum hair was dyed black by Callisto’s hands. It was the clothes of his childhood which she wore.
With a cloak and a hat, Alana looked like a boy. The reason why she dressed as a man was to get out of the castle in Armenia. When Callisto came to her room, he opened the door and said, “Alana, we have a problem. The king and Prince Raymond are going to Serrat.”
The story of the black earth and water had been relayed by Callisto to the Chancellor. But within a month it had spread to her father and brother. They thought that the black soil and water should be obtained from the entire land of Rivas, and they wanted to take advantage of the new alliance with Teges. For some reason, obtaining the black soil equated to the rights of a champion.
“Somehow, the black earth and water are being treated differently. Does my father think that the prosperity of the former thousand-year empire will return if he obtains them?”
“I think so. The king is compared to your grandfather, the second coming of Lorenzo, and even he feels inferior. In the event that you’ve got the black soil and water, and you’re claiming to revive the millennial empire, you can far surpass the achievements of the previous king. In addition, recently, the king and Prince Raymond have been indulging in debauchery in Anselma. Now, their reputation with the people and the nobility is at an all-time low. I think the king is concerned about that and wants to cover his name with Rivas.”
Anselma was a garden of women that the Chancellor had created to protect Alana from her half-brother Raymond. It was a brothel for the brother’s exclusive use, where he gathered the women he liked. In spite of this, her father was also obsessed with the garden.
“My father is planning to invade the country of Nava Serrat by Teges, isn’t he? It seems that Teges had been targeting Serrat for some time. Is there anything we can do to stop him? I will tell my father directly-”
“The first team leaves tomorrow. It’s too late to stop it. Everything is in motion. My father and I did not realise that there was such a movement until today. The king and the prince have been working in secret.” Her father was ambitious, but not good at politics. He left everything to the Chancellor. He could not make decisions on his own, so he relied on others. Her brother must have put this in his head. He kept it a secret to the point where he could not turn back if the Prime Minister found out.
“I will join the starting line-up. Callisto, please be prepared.” Alana told him, and Callisto closed his eyes.
“I’m opposed Your body will not be able to withstand the journey. What’s more, you’re still sick, aren’t you?”
“But I must go. Don’t let the Chancellor take notice of you. My father and brother will find out.”
At this time Alana had already thought that Serrat would be destroyed. If they were to deal with Teges alone, or if they were to ally with Armenia, the difference in military power was obvious.
“Callisto, there’s someone I would like to introduce you to. Gustavo, are you there?”
When she asked the bookshelf, the mechanism suddenly started to work and a man with dark brown hair appeared inside. He was a rogue in a soiled cloak and pants, not exactly fit to appear before a princess. His downcast eyes looked swarthy.
Callisto’s eyes widened, “What kind of man is this?”
Alana had hired a secret agent because she was concerned about Callisto risking his life to protect her when her half-brother Juanito assaulted her.
“This is Gustavo. He is very skilled. He will protect you. The three of us will be in the group by the time the advance party arrives at Nava Serrat. We will be the messengers.”
“Three people? You’re joking. it’s too few. But will you go even if I stop you, right?”
Nodding, he put his hand on his forehead.
“It’s a shame…I’ll call on Baron Guzman. He will do anything for you. There is no one more loyal than he. I’ll also take the doctor with me. I don’t want to hear denial.”
Thus, Alana dyed her hair black and took on the appearance of a boy. She had to go to Serrat in disguise because her father had forbidden her to go outside the castle. And so, for the first time in her life, Alana stepped out into the outside world.
